Fun Über Alles[]
Games exist for fun. And Fun. Anything that gets in the way of this should be avoided and/or left by the wayside with all haste!
d6[]
Fancy dice are fun, but they aren't nearly as ubiquitous as pens, paper, and d6 are! The more d6 are used, the better in my book.
Streamlined[]
In both the number of dice rolls and modifiers. The faster things go, the faster my peon brain can pass judgement and move the game along, and the more time there is for fun.
Easily Understood[]
The motivation behind a small stat scale, and the use of small numbers in general is for relative values to be readily comprehended, and for any change in a value to have meaning. No splitting hairs!
